Site clearance with cabins in place, trucks and diggers on daily visits.
September 2014 was a period of mobilisation on site when Hobson & Porter positioned the porta-cabins and began the process of clearing the site in preparation to start the build. The site is just over an acre which looks huge.
29th August 2014 ground-breaking with Emmaus Hull Patron Rt. Hon Alan Johnson MP, Steve Close Group Chief Executive of the Together Housing Group ( Chevin Housing Association are part of the Group and our main investors and build partners), Patrick Doyle, Chair of Emmaus Hull and David Blades Director at Hobson & Porter, who are our local builders. In the background are our many local groups and individuals who have spent many years fundraising to enable the 2.7m to be raised. Other contributors include Hull City Council who has kindly provided the land and a financial contribution to the construction of the social enterprise centre, alongside The Sir James Reckitt Charitable Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation and the Rayne Foundation. We are also extremely grateful for the continuing support of Emmaus UK and our mentoring Emmaus community, Emmaus Leeds.
